Focus:
Antananarivo joins the Flying Blue Petroleum network to serve the increase in journeys linked to oil and gas activity. Although significant oil fields have been discovered in Madagascar since the early 20th century, exploitation really began in 1976, the date when OMNIS (Malagasy Office of Mining and Strategic Industries) was created. Today, a dozen Malagasy and foreign companies are conducting exploration work in 5 main basins with a total surface area of 320,000 km².
